Katy Perry, born as Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, is a celebrated musician and songwriter from the United States. Her upbringing in Santa Barbara, California, was strongly influenced by gospel music, as her parents were both Christian pastors. Katy even sang in church during her early years. After finishing her GED in her first year of high school, Katy pursued her passion for music. Unfortunately, her first album released under the name Katy Hudson in 2001 was a gospel album that did not do well due to the record label’s closure. She then teamed up with The Matrix to work on an album from 2004 to 2005, followed by a solo album, but unfortunately, neither of these recordings ever saw the light of day.
